You Get What You Pay For

I purchased the Lyra to replace another MP3 player that had crapped out on me, and the primary factor in my decision was the price.Big mistake.I will give credit for the relatively big LCD screen and button size, as well as the generous battery life, but that's about it.The player doesn't recognize folders, so if you have more than one CD uploaded onto it at one time, you can't choose between them and they will alternate play. Also, a standard MP3 playlist won't play in order, rather it will be ...

For the price, you can't ask for much more!

I purchased two of these, one for a friend who is a big music lover, and one for myself. We have now had the device for around 6 months and so far smooth sailing. Both devices are used at least an hour daily, and no problems whatsoever! We haven't had any freezing problems, but then again have kept the card at 512 or under, so that may be an issue some others are experiencing with higher memory.Battery life really is as long as advertised, particularly with name brands (off brands are predictably...

Nice design / Low Quality

I was very happy with this little gadget when I purchased it. I used it all the time. I would load it with audio books and music. I liked that I could expand it with the same memory card that went into my camera. The functionality was simple and the audio was clear. It would have been nice if the display had a backlight, but I was willing to live with it. After a couple months of use I started having file glitches. It would only recognize about 2/3 of what was loaded. After another month it would...

The MP3 player for a Dummy

I know zip about MP3 players and all the jargon that goes with buying one...256 MB, 20 Gig, etc, you-know blah blah. But I really thought it would be cool to get one and I got surprised with one as a Father's Day gift. This Lyra is small and comfortable with its armband and unbelievably easy to use.I ripped about twenty songs in less than twenty minutes ("Rip" being a word I learned in the past week). The thing runs on ONE (1) AAA battery and has held up during some pretty vigorous exercise on my part...

Worked Great.....for a little while

Worked perfectly for about 6 months.Dropped it once on cement and it was curtains for the mp3 player. Also doesn't recognize folders.Other than that, I was happy with it until it passed away....
