Does what it promises to do.

I recently decided to convert my 300+ CDs to Windows Media format files so I could play them at work through my headphones. As I was recording them at home, I thought about how nice it would be if I could play my music through my home stereo. I then came across this product, which pretty much does the trick. It comes with two receiver type things that look like fat walkie-talkies. One of them plugs into your computer's audio-out jack. It also has an audio out jack so you can plug your existing computer...

Excellent product

This product probably depends on your local RF interference from other sources. I expect using battery power may reduce the high frequency noise. The sound quality is as advertised, which I found surprising given the multiple 900 MHz devices in my built-up neighborhood. With this device, I can listen to internet radio, which is even more varied (and much less expensive) than satellite radio. Picked up for $19.99 on clearance at M-center....

This thing Sucks

As my title states, this thing REALLY sucks. I tried every channel, and pressed scan..and everything..and it wouldn't lock on to the signal. Even when it was 5 feet away in the same room. The only thing it would pick up was a bunch of junk, and other peoples phone conversations. And what did come through was all distorted...Summary: NEVER buy this...in fact..call up US Robotics and ask them why they made such a horrible product. I bought this because i've had good experiences with USR before....oh...

You pay for what you get...

This product did what it says it will do, but don't expect it to sound like you're listening to a CD. Because it's only 900MHz, it sounds like you're listening to your music on a weak FM station. There is a high-pitched hiss that doesn't seem to go away regardless of the signal strength. I was transmitting line-of-site 10 feet across the room and the hiss persisted....

Easy to use, but not great sound.

O.K., I have a real audiophile system (Linn with the exception of the receiver on the third floor and computer on the third floor) and the sound quality is acceptable (read "not great"). That means I am going to be somewhat critical about how this thing performs. The thing is that this allows me to get audio from my computer system and playback the playlists in proper order. My computer has at least 15k titles on a 120 GB hard drive and can do play lists that will play for several weeks (Imagine...
