Product Description

Turning the tables on the notion of a portable music player, iRiver's PMP-120 portable media player goes 2 steps further, giving you an incredible 20 GB of storage for not just music, but digital photos and full-color, full-motion video, too. The unit sports a 3.5-inch TFT LCD and an audio input so you can load audio content directly into the player from other home or portable devices--no PC required. It will double as a voice recorder, too, generating compressed-audio files from its onboard condenser microphone input.

The unit is PC-compatible, of course: connect it via high-speed USB 2.0 to transfer your media files to the PMP-120 in a jiffy. You can store up to 80 hours of video (using 320 x 240 resolution at 500 kbps, AVI format) or up to 600 hours of music (using Windows Media format at 64 kbps). The PMP-120's format compatibilities extend from MP3 to WMA (Windows Media Audio, with full Microsoft Digital Rights Management compatibility) to WMV and AVI (DivX) video and BMP/JPEG image files. Using a USB camera? Use the PMP-120 for on-the-go viewing with a direct USB connection.

The media player offers a built-in FM radio tuner and speaker, making it perfect for sporting events and headphones-free listening (iRiver earphones are included). You can connect it to your home stereo and/or television for additional listening or viewing flexibility. The media player's user-replaceable rechargeable lithium-ion battery provides up to 5 hours of audio/video playback and 16 hours of audio-only use per charge.

What's in the Box
Portable media player, iRiver earphones, remote control, remote battery, rechargeable lithium-ion battery, a carrying case, USB 2.0 Cable, USB host cable, line-in cable, TV out cable, a user's manual, a hand strap, an installation CD, and an AC power adapter.

AVI files

I just wanted to point out to the guy that gave the PMP a bad review because he couldn't get an AVI file to play that AVI files CAN IN FACT BE ONE OF MANY DIFFERENT FORMATS.So unless a video player actually supports all the formats, you'll run into this with any player. And unless the company pays licensing fees for certain formats, the support will be shoddy. At least iRiver products don't artificially restrict your freedom to use different formats by only allowing you to play wmas and mp3s.There...

Faulty Faulty Faulty!

I was given this as a gift for Christmas and just over 3 months after I recieved it, I put it on charge for a night, and came back to it and the screen had a dead spot in it. The next time I put it on charge, it completely messed up the whole screen to where now nothing is visible anymore. And the player only has a 90 day warranty, and when I tried to contact Iriver about the problem, I recieved no response. You will probable be better off buying an Ipod that plays both mp3s and videos instead of...

Comparison of Flash MP3 and Hard Drive MP3

Okay. Here is a write up, that I did, on the comparisons/contrasts on MP3 players. Mainly, the Harddrive versions (I.E. Rio Riot/Apple IPOD -both of which I own) and the flash memory type... (I.E. Memorex 3642 Mp3 Player/IPOD Nano, of which I own as well). What prompted this little jaunt (of which you may send to as many people as you like) My (expensive) Apple 40 gig 1st generation iPod died during an autofill. Just me copying files over to it, and the battery ran out of juice. I would have not...

People who don't like it don't know how to use it.

Most of the people who don't like are the people who don't know how to record the radio or how to put movies on it.It's a good product that is very organized with a big screen compared to ipod video, and is only about $200 used. So if I were you I'd buy it....
