I've been using these D Skins for over a year now and am super happy with their performance!I have read other user reviews and have not experienced the fine clockwise scratches perhaps friction between the skin and the disc while in play.I have noticed a slight variance in fit with different skins, sometimes they're snug enough to snap and lock on, but do have a little air between the disc and the skin, if that's the case, I switch skins and most often the next one fits perfect.Maybe there's a better fit for some discs than others?I purchased these skins at a game store and the clerk told me never to use these skins in a car stereo, they are too sensitive and don't have the clearance for the extra thickness they add to the CD.I've never had a play problem with these skins in my DVD player, no skipping or locking up, just normal uninterrupted play. The sales guy that sold these to me showed me an impressive demonstration of aggressive abuse these skins can withstand, and the damage they are capable of preventing. He snapped one of theskins on a brand new CD and then purposefully ground the CD back and forth his tabletop and over objects, he picked up the CD and showed me not only that the skin STAYED ON, which amazed me, but also the skin was lightly scuffed compared to the unscaithed CD.I was sold right then and there. If it is true what the reviewer mentioned that clockwise friction he encountered using his skins, whether caused by finite debris or other, I'm fine with that because light scuffing can be buffed out, it's much better than the alternative of heavy very visable scratches that are on all of my unprotected CD's.They might not be perfect but I still think they're a great investment for my collection!

RECOMMENDED!

Very useful

The D-Skin's are great. Everything I've tried them on can read through the skins no problem (Xbox 360, Xbox, PS2, Onkyo DVD player, Dell laptop, etc.)

It's a lot better to pay for these than to pay for new discs.

I plan to put these on every disc I own.

Worth the Money!!!!!

I am a user of D_Skins and I highly recommend them for use on most all discs. I have encountered a few discs that wouldn't play well with one on, but those are few (and usually because the skin was messed up). They do have a few drawbacks (minor). 1- you can't use them on 2-sided discs, 2- not all DVD players will read through them. I own a good Magnavox and have had no trouble with this. My parents own a Sanyo(low-end model) and I have to take the skins off to play them on that machine. Otherwise, D_Skins are well worth the money, especially if you have kids!
