Razer ProSolutions v1.6 Mouse ( RP01-010100R1M1 ) – Customer Reviews

Best mouse I've ever used

This mouse is perfect size. The buttons on the side are easy to press once you get used to them. Now whenever I use anyone elses mouse I'm always trying to find those buttons! They're very handy to have. Also this mouse moves very smoothly.

Pros: Smooth tracking, buttons and scroll wheel aren't loud, perfect precision, and the colors look fantastic when they glow (they aren't keep you up at night bright), the white is very clean looking and will not get dirty or chip easy at all.

Cons: The gold USB plug doesn't work when I start up my computer sometimes so I have to unplug the mouse, plug it back in, then it works. Also the tray icon has to be enabled for the buttons on the sides to work but it doesn't really bother me...

Over all I give this mouse a 5 star rating because its very easy to use, and its not a huge mouse. I have smaller hands and they fit perfectly on here considering most of the mice made (logitech, microsoft) are so huge.

I will buy another razer mouse if this one ever goes out.

Perfect example of form over function, style over substance

My trusty Microsoft IntelliMouse Optical finally wore out, so I bought this one based on Razer's reputation and because it has seven buttons. Alas, inspite of all the claimed technical wizardry, this mouse is absolutely absymal and I returned it pronto.

1. The mouse requires an odd, unnatural grip.

2. I hold the mouse with my index and middle fingers resting on the left and right buttons, respectively, and those are so soft that when I clicked one, the slight sympathetic downward movement of the other finger clicked the other one as well.

3. The four programmable buttons on the sides are tiny and impossible to find, and unlike the main buttons, are so hard that you really have to grip the other side of the mouse, so again you end up clicking two buttons, one each on opposite sides.

4. This is a personal preference, but I hate hardware that installs useless proprietary software on my PC: Razer's proprietary driver is no better than the built-in Windows driver, which works just fine; moreover, Razer's driver starts two background processes, which is ridiculous for a mouse and adds to the startup time. The driver does allow programming the extra buttons, but the programming options are limited, and given the impossibly small buttons, quite useless.

5. This mouse only works with a USB port, and won't work with a USB-to-PS/2 adapter, so it won't work with a PS/2 KVM switch.

My suggestion: buy something else until Razer fixes these problems.

This mouse rocks!

I am a computer accessory geek. I buy mice and keyboards like some women by shoes and I have to say that this is hands down the best mouse I have ever used. It is comfortable, light, smooth and just damn cool to look at! I have one on my Mac and one on my XP machine and it works just as good on either one. Highly recommend!
